94 and still knitting
This week at the Norfolk Makers’ Festival in the Forum at Norwich, I encountered 94 year old Margaret Seaman who knits – but not pullovers or scarves – instead scenes – like Great Yarmouth, Sandringham or Buckingham Palace. Here you can see her model of Buckingham Palace.

Her work has raised over £100,000 for charities, and, she tells me she has no intention of stopping with the palace. So who knows what may be next?
The work on display at this festival is quite amazing with so many skills being displayed. But the event finishes this weekend, so get yourself there if you want to see it.

There are people who knit using tangled nets washed up on the sea shore – and if you want to you can be invited to have a go!

Then there is this woolly mammoth. Difficult to create – and because of the way it is displayed difficult to photograph.

I spent a happy hour thee on Thursday.

A simple pleasure in life.

Oh my goodness, what a fascinating event!! Thank you for sharing!
I read on the National news pages about the lady who knitted Buckingham Palace. How fortunate you were to witness her work. What a skill and such patience?
