Back to the plough

Yes I remember I covered this event last year and it is not very often that I have a similar set of photographs within twelve months, but it is twelve months (almost to the day) since I last visited the Norfolk Ploughing Society.

Reasons for the return were – it was jolly interesting – it was very popular (with around 50 contestants taking part) – it was a lovely sunny day and I have received numerous prompts to return.

In fact the photographs need no introduction. It is a ploughing competition and the results were determined on human skill. As you will see there were old tractors, new tractors, ploughing machines that had to be pushed and two splendid horses who pulled a plough.

It is always lovely to see horses like this at ploughing matches and from a photography point of view they are a great attraction.

My thanks to the two handlers of the animals and to all the drivers for allowing me up close to watch them demonstrating their skill. I spent a great morning with them and was made to feel very welcome.
