Black and White Lines

If you just start with black and white lines, it’s amazing what you can do with them.

Take this, for example, it just started as a coiled rope which I saw on a boat deck and with a bit of pushing, pulling heaving and ho-ing (like what real sailors do) this is what came out. Yeh, I know, you probably think the original is more artistic than what I sweated over for twenty minutes.

OK try this one then – a reflection of a humble grate. Reversing the colours, twisting it round a bit, chopping it up and rearranging the finished product – how about that?

It’s all very well you turning your nose up at the end product but some people make a living producing pictures like this

You don’t have to go any further than a local flight of steps to get this, but of course you do have to wait until the sun shines.

If you live in Norfolk and visit that “Fine City” I am sure you won’t have missed the famous Rose Lane car park. I think I have photographed it before. It is a car park with artistic holes in the wall. Now of course even more artistic – well I thought so!!

Sometime last year I also had a day at the sea side in Great Yarmouth and this week had an idea that I might do something with the shots of the big wheel. It passes the time.

No I know my reader(s) are not too keen on monochrome so I promise next week, as Spring is on the way to try and find something with colour in it.

Have a good weekend
