There is an attraction
I am never quite sure why, from time to time I am drawn towards street art and pictorial graffiti. I think it is the colours and the contrasts -sad areas of a city being brightened up by imaginative drawings.

The bad language and the work of the spoilers I can do without – but there is skill in quite a lot of the work that we see in the underpasses and walkways of many inner-city areas.

When the sun shines unwitting owners of cars can enhance the effect by parking their vehicles in just the right place. All it needs is some guy with a camera who is prepared to take advantage of the conditions – let’s call it my contribution.

What I try not to do is simply photograph other people’s art, so I am always happy when passers by (usually inadvertently) get themselves in to the picture.

Many of them apologize for “ruining the shot!” Nothing of the sort they add movement and contribute to the transience of the art form.

Apologies to any of my readers who think that I am encouraging those “who deface our streets! “I am not going to change their minds. On the other hand, a final greeting to Seb who I met this morning on site, so to speak, not actually using a paint can, but who had clearly been busy and who loved the photograph I had just taken. I now have at least one fan.

So to Seb – and you others- even my critics, have a good weekend.
