Getting up in the morning
No doubt, some of you, like me, are pleased to find we are experiencing an area of high pressure. At least we are in this part of Norfolk.

This gives us calm quiet days with a certain amount of sunshine. In the mornings, we are told there may be some mist or fog patches. However these should burn off as the day goes on!
Light winds – no rain – mist in the early morning – a chance, I thought, to put the drone up and see if there are any picturesque results.

As usual hopes are not always realised. Day one – very misty – in fact it was more like fog! The drone was very reluctant to get out of bed. It gave me messages on my control screen saying “reduced visibility – fly with caution!” In the end it did go up to about 400 feet only to find that what I hoped was mist turned out to be fog and the drone wanted to come down.

Next day was a bit more successful. No doubt I shall get an ear full from responsible camera people about not shooting in to the sun – but the shadows were so attractive and it wasn’t always possible to see which way the flying machine was pointing or the angle of the lens. Nevertheless, point taken.

Those who know this part of North Norfolk may recognise the village of Bodham near Holt

Yes that really is the sea on the horizon making an appearance.

As usual, before too long, the power started to run down and I had to agree for a “return to landing place”

Fun while it lasted, but like the mist it doesn’t last long.

Watch the skies and see you next week
