WANTED -a good home.
Towards the end of 2019 the John Jarrold Printing Museum closed for the last time.

The premises were needed for a housing development. I, along with several friends visited the works in order to take photographs of the machines before they were dismantled

Some of these priceless machines were housed in a barn on the Blickling Estate – roughly about one seventh of the total stock. However the National Trust, who own Blickling need their barn back and so the machines have to move out by October of this year and require a new home.

Premises are being sought in order to house all the stock. It would be helpful if a new site could be found somewhere in Norwich itself. It would need to have a sturdy floor and an entrance large enough to get the various machines in.

John Jarrold II started working as a printer in 1815 in Suffolk, but moved the business to Norwich in 1823. Printing remained a part of the Jarrold empire until the beginning of the 21st century. The Print Museum though was opened in 1982.

I decided to republish the photographs from my blog article of 2019 in order to appeal to anyone who might have an idea where suitable premises might be found.

If you can help please contact me – or better still drop an email to “npmtrustees@gmail.com” Even looking at the photographs from 2019, I am sure you will agree this is such a valuable resource which should not be lost.
