My old mum’s camera
It was an old Box Brownie – if I looked inside it I could tell you exactly which one it was, but there’s a film in it. The pictures looked a bit like this.
So, with a few friends we headed in to Norwich – on a Saturday. It was such a gloomy day and the shop windows looked inviting so I shot a few images.

People in the street doing their own thing
Salvation Army of course doing their thing – you know Christmas carols and the like.

But it was the shop windows that looked so fascinating.
How to present them?

I came across the work of a German photographer, Thomas Kellner, who simply worked with strips of film, which he stretched out and re-photographed. Have a look at his technique, but don’t be put off by his interpretation of perspective https://www.thomaskellner.com/artworks-and-art-commissions.html
This weekend I am busy preparing quite a different exhibition, but if you are passing Burnham Market in North Norfolk today or tomorrow – looking and enjoy what they call in the county a quick mardle.
More on windows next week

Somebody asked where – heavens its not a big place – driving in from Norwich it’s on North Street – on the right just before the green- bring you credit card!
