Seeking inspiration
Last week I was asked by a fiend “what gives you inspiration?” Bit of a bolt out of the blue that one was. Something I had never consciously considered before.

Well here goes. I suspect for many photographers, inspiration comes from watching people – what they do – how they react – are they showing emotions and things like that.

For others, I believe inspiration comes from looking at pictures, possibly in books or magazines – or if they are very lucky – during a visit to an exhibition of other people’s art.

Before Christmas I had a small exhibition in a studio where there were works other than mine. To be honest we were never rushed of our feet with visitors and that gave me time to view and examine photographs other than my own. Some of the work on display was both imaginative and inspiring.

Just enough for me to start thinking about the topic of inspiration.

I have drawn pictures this week from a couple of exhibitions I have visited in the last year or so.

This week on the blog we are watching people, looking at pictures!

Or – in the last instance – people not looking at pictures.

WELL IT’S NOT MY FEET YOU CAN SMELL
I promise I won’t be as irritating as this all year!
