A little more varied than usual
It is some years since I last visited the Photography and Video Show at NEC. Last time I went I felt that the majority of stall holders were out to tempt me with the latest… – no matter what I had -they wanted to sell the latest.

There was of course still an element of that Canon and Nikon; Sony and even Sigma were anxious to promote their latest models. I thought the emphasis was much more on what was available to assist photographers where they were, not where the manufacturers wanted them to be.

Many of the talks I visited were tending to discuss the importance and the limitations of AI. Others stressed the value of being able to obtain from existing equipment new ideas and perspectives.

I decided to go on the Monday on the grounds that the show would have been busy at the weekend – mistake – it seemed to be busier than ever and places simply to sit and chat were difficult to find.

Inevitably there were the new inventions and clearly established traders were experiencing plenty of visitors.

But on the whole I felt the focus was much more on where people are rather than trying to encourage them to dig deep into their pockets.
Looking back – this seems to be the last word.
