Horses and Hats
I promised you a second look at the Royal Norfolk Show. As always there was much to see but I thought I would concentrate on animals with two legs and animals with four.

As always ladies your hats were magnificent and once again they seem to be getting smaller and smaller.

My wife tells me they are called fascinators – not sure they would fascinate me and I am equally sure they won’t shield the face from the sun.

One lady thought my hat (a treat in store for another occasion) looked more like a sou’wester. Nevertheless it kept the sun off and my face from being recognised by the usual horde of screaming fans who trail around after me! You know the sort I mean!

Then there were the horses. They looked brilliant – especially those who were simply there to be admired.

Those attempting to clear the jumps were working hard and I thought doing a very respectable job.

I am certain it is not easy bringing animals into such a confined area with enthusiastic crowds lining the rails on every side.

Considering most of the horses’ lives are spent with gentle company and wide open spaces, to enter an arena like this must be something of an ordeal for them. And it was hot!

Even so a good show. Supporter and riders did a great job.

What a day out.

ADDITIONAL NOTE
I strongly suspect that in about 3 weeks’ time Ifotophilia will have a new web address. As soon as I know what this is, I will let my regular reader know. It will still contain the word IFOTOPHILIA but probably not much more than that.
Oh my gosh, I love the last two photos!!
