Morbid? – not really!

Maybe I have been to a few too many funerals in the past month but a trip round one of the largest cemeteries in Norwich produced some unusual images and sad thoughts.

I am sure that funerals can be a respectful way of drawing to a close the memories of a person’s life. I am also sure that the epitaphs inscribed on grave stones all too rapidly become forgotten.

I find this collection of pictures very sad. Sad, because despite the sentiments expressed in stone eventually the people are

forgotten.

It is quite a salutary lesson – none of us live for ever – but also the good (or I suppose even the bad) that we do in life fades away.

Maybe I’ll cheer up a bit in time for next week. But I hope you like the pictures anyway.
